Biases, we all have them. This 3rd workshop, in our Building Cultures of Belonging curriculum, focuses on strategies to recognize and address bias. Delivered in a brain-friendly, experiential, learning centric design format this course goes beyond just the science of unconscious bias.

About the Event

This customizable course facilitates the practice of tools to increase self-awareness, enhance knowledge, skills, and the practice of strategies to help build cultures of belonging.  Bias, both conscious and unconscious impacts behavior and decision making. Learning to manage biases that create exclusion is a skill you can learn.  Inclusive organizations, where people feel included and united around the achievement of shared business goals are simply more profitable. 

Learning to manage bias is a key step toward creating Cultures of Belonging. Cultures where peole feeling safe, accepted, valued and empowered to contribute their talents and perspectives.  The very fuel for innovation, creativity and the achievement of collective goals.  When people feel valued they add value.

Define bias and implicit bias

Experience your brain’s propensity for bias

Recognize how bias impedes inclusion

Practice surfacing bias

Describe how bias can show up in the workplace

Use effective strategies to address bias

Create an action plan to recognize and address bias
